AERKOMM and EJECTT win bid for Taiwan communication resilience project.

On August 9, 2023, AERKOMM Taiwan Inc. and its partner EJECTT Inc. (3089.TWO) secured the first-stage bid for the “Asynchronous Satellite Network Leasing and Transmission Service Procurement Project” from Taiwan’s Telecom Technology Center (“TTC”).

Scope

The two-year initiative, funded by Taiwan’s Ministry of Digital Development, aims to establish 773 sites — both domestic and international — by the end of 2024. The build-out uses SES’s O3b Medium Earth Orbit constellation to strengthen emergency communications infrastructure and validate a heterogeneous, resilient network architecture.

Why it matters

The project directly tests communication effectiveness during emergency or conflict scenarios — precisely the conditions in which land-line and terrestrial-cellular networks are most likely to fail. Winning the first-stage bid positions the AERKOMM–EJECTT combination as an anchor operator for Taiwan’s national communication resilience footprint, and gives AERKOMM a public-sector reference deployment on which to build follow-on Taiwan market wins.

AERKOMM has said it will pursue additional bid opportunities to expand its Taiwan market position and satellite-industry leadership.
